For a child with a height of 40–105 cm, install the car seat rear-facing using ISOFIX and the Top Tether. Extend the ISOFIX connectors, attach them to the vehicle seat anchor points, press the base against the backrest and check that the green ISOFIX indicators are visible on both sides. Set the seat rear-facing, check that it is securely anchored and adjust the recline to the semi-reclined position marked “1”. Route the Top Tether through the upper guide on the backrest, on the inside of the vehicle, attach it to the anchorage point and tighten it until the indicator turns green. You can place your child comfortably when the seat is turned sideways; after fastening the harness, turn it back to the rear-facing position and check the anchoring again.

Install the car seat forward-facing after removing the car seat safety harness and positioning the seat in the direction of travel. Place it on the vehicle seat and, when installing with ISOFIX, extend the connectors, attach them to the anchor points, press the base against the backrest and check the green indicators on both sides. When installing without ISOFIX, skip these steps. Set one of the 4 recline positions, adjust the headrest, then route the vehicle's shoulder belt through the guide in the headrest and the lap belt through the lower guide. After fastening the belt, check that it is not twisted, is taut and is correctly positioned in the guides.

To fasten the harness, first loosen it using the tension adjustment button, place your child in the seat and connect the buckle tongues until you hear a click. Then adjust the headrest and tighten the harness using the adjustment strap. The harness should fit snugly against your child’s body and must not be twisted. The lap section should sit low across the pelvis. To unfasten the harness, press the red button on the buckle. Use the reducer insert for children measuring 40–87 cm.

You can remove the harness straps after loosening them and raising the headrest. Unfasten the cover at the back of the car seat, remove the harness loops from the metal connecting plate and the headrest lever, then pull the upper sections of the shoulder straps through the openings in the backrest. Unfasten the straps, remove the buckle from the protective cushion and pull the metal end of the strap through the opening in the seat. Store the removed components in the pocket on the inside of the cover. Refit them in the reverse order.

To detach the car seat from ISOFIX, press the ISOFIX release levers on both sides. The indicator on the ISOFIX button will then turn red. This shows that the ISOFIX arms have been released from the car’s anchorage points.

Detach the Top Tether strap from the anchorage point in the car, then loosen it. Once detached, the indicator will turn red. This makes it easy to check that the strap is no longer under tension.

Press the adjustment lever and move the car seat to the desired position to change the inclination. In the forward-facing position, 4 inclination levels are available. In the rear-facing position, the car seat must be set to the semi-reclined “1” position.

Press the rotation button and turn the seat to face either forwards or backwards in the direction of travel. After changing the position, try moving the seat. When correctly anchored, the seat should not change position.

The cover is easiest to remove when the headrest is in its highest available position. Start by removing the headrest cover, then remove the remaining components. To refit them, follow the same steps in reverse order.

The Bastiaan i-Size car seat cover can be machine washed at up to 30°C. Do not tumble dry it or dry it in direct sunlight. Clean the plastic components with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use strong detergents or bleaching agents.
