Detailed features

Grows with your child

Bastiaan Plus i-Size is suitable for children from 40 to 150 cm tall, so it can accompany them through successive stages of travel – for up to 10 years. At first, the infant insert helps create a better fit for smaller children. As your little one grows, you can adjust the headrest to one of 12 positions, and the harness moves up with it. There is no need to rethread the straps separately to adapt the seat to your child’s height.

Swivels towards the car door

The integrated 360° swivel base lets you turn the seat towards the car door. In the first months, this makes it easier to settle your child into the seat and fasten the built-in harness without leaning far into the car. As your child grows, this position makes getting in easier and helps you check and adjust the straps more quickly before setting off.

Installation with Top Tether monitoring

When using ISOFIX and Top Tether in the applicable height ranges, it is important not only to attach the tether strap but also to tension it correctly. Indicators on the ISOFIX connectors help confirm proper engagement, while the electronic Top Tether sensor monitors strap tension. If the strap needs adjusting, the system triggers an alert to help you spot the issue before your journey.

Rear-facing for better protection

Bastiaan Plus i-Size allows your child to travel rear-facing from 40 to 105 cm, approximately up to the age of 4. Rear-facing travel is considered the safest option for very young children because it helps protect the head, neck and spine more effectively during sudden braking or a frontal collision. This is why the extended RWF height range matters so much in the early years of travel.

Choose by your child’s height

The UN R129/04 i-Size standard helps you select a car seat based on your child’s height rather than weight alone. With Bastiaan Plus i-Size, the 40–150 cm range guides parents through the successive stages of use, from the first journeys to travelling with an older child. It makes it easier to check when to use the rear-facing position, how to install the seat and when to change the way your child is secured.

No harness rethreading

As your child grows, you can set the headrest to one of 12 positions, and the harness adjusts in height with it. There is no need to rethread the shoulder straps separately to adapt the seat to the next stage. When travelling forward-facing at 76–105 cm, you can also choose from 5 recline positions – more upright for an active journey or further reclined when your little one needs to rest.

More comfort on every journey

The breathable Dri-Seat upholstery helps keep your child comfortable on the road, while the wide seat provides more room as they grow. You can remove the upholstery and machine-wash it, making it easier to freshen up the car seat after everyday trips.

Harness straps always within reach

Harness holders keep the straps at the sides of the seat before you put your child in. This makes it easier to settle your little one and reach for the straps quickly. Once buckled, you can tighten them with a single pull, without spending time readjusting everything before setting off.
